A nonprofit academic medical center established in 1883, is one of the oldest and most distinguished pediatric hospitals in the United States.

Through an academic affiliation dating to 1926, the hospital comprises the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. They train more than 600 residents and clinical fellows a year in various pediatric specialties and offer some of the most highly ranked research-based education and training programs in the nation.

Business Problem: The project began within the Heart Institute within the hospital. They were leading an international group of leading pediatric cardiologists who needed a way to develop and deploy learning modules in a collaborative manner. They needed a system and partner that could work closely with their team to develop the LMS structure that will serve their user base. In addition to certain technical and expansion requirements, the system needed to be cost effective, easy to manage and maintain.

Solution Provided: We provided them with a private, cloud-based instance of the eFrontPro Learning Management System. Collectively, we designed a beautiful website front-end that serves as the entry point into the system. The system has been configured to make content easy to create and to access, the doctors, students and fellows from all over the world.

Business Benefits: In just eight weeks, our client has effectively implemented a system that sets them apart from the industry while containing their costs. They are getting praise and accolades from health associations worldwide. They were also able to use the platform to modernize the Adult Congenital Heart Disease learning center.

Our two teams have formed a unique and special relationship and are now expanding the effort to potentially 24 additional children’s hospitals.
